Twitch Gets Owned by Anonymous Hacker

An anonymous hacker laid waste to Twitch by uploading a treasure trove of secrets of the streaming site to 4chan, the image-based bulletin board website.

What did the hacker leak?  Oh plenty, including all of Twitch’s source code for every version of the website from 2011.  And all of the records of how much streamers have made on the platform since August 2019.

Poggers.  The hacker described the exploit as “twitch leaks part one” and also noted that it was an “extremely poggers leak.”  It’s ok, we had to look that one up in the Twitch-to-English dictionary too.

  • According to knowyourmeme.com, “poggers is a Twitch Emote featuring an illustration of Pepe the Frog making a surprised facial expression, which is used to express excitement or celebration in a similar manner to the PogChamp emote.”
