Social Network for Chief People Officers

NYC-based Knoetic is emerging from stealth and is a social network of…human resource leaders.  Yes, the company has created a referral-only network of over 1,000 chief people officers from leading tech companies and has a SaaS analytics tool called an “insight engine” that gives its members unique data points about its workforce.

The insight engine can help answer questions about company turnover, hiring, compensation, remote work, organizational culture and talent management.  Customers so far include Lyft, Squarespace, Snyk, Dollar Shave Club and Zapier.

“The decade of the people officer.”  Knoetic founder and CEO Joseph Quan said “The 2020s are the decade of the chief people officer.  Last year’s challenges showed every CEO and Board the importance of having a strategic partnership with the people/HR team. Chief people officers were at the center of every existential decision a company faces."

Financing.  The company has done an $18 million Series A funding led by Accel, which includes over 100 angel investors, including Wharton professor and New York Times bestselling author Adam Grant, and executives from Box, Figma, Johnson & Johnson, LinkedIn, Scale, Pinterest, Calm and Front.

Accel’s blog post on the deal.  Accel Partner Vas Natarajan explained the rationale for the investment in a blog post:  “Talent teams today sit across a litany of workflow tools, each with different data models. Knoetic integrates those systems to create a single source of truth and exposes key analytics capabilities to CPOs who've never before had data-driven insights.”
