The Job Shuffle and the Taskmaster

Well, the employment world produced the biggest news in tech yesterday – here’s the gist of what happened.

The job shuffle.  After a long tenure at Facebook turned Meta, Sheryl Sandberg, the last adult in the room, is stepping down.

Zuck said he doesn’t plan to have anyone replace the role Sandberg played at the company (and acknowledged that may not even be possible given her stature), but Oliver Javian will be assuming the COO title later this year.

The taskmaster.  The Muskmaster at Tesla tweeted that employees "should pretend to work somewhere else" if they're not willing to return to their offices.

The leaked memo to staff said: “Anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum (and I mean *minimum*) of 40 hours per week or depart Tesla. This is less than we ask of factory workers."

Ok, that settles it for Tesla, wonder what’s going to go down about remote work at Twitter.
