Microsoft Is Racking Up Billion Dollar Tabs



It’s hard not to notice that Microsoft has been on a buying binge for years in its quest to beat out is competition by acquisition.
 
Here is a convenient rundown of what they’ve been up to in their billion dollar plus buying spree:

  • Nuance Communications.  Purchase of speech recognition and artificial intelligence company for $19.7 billion announced Monday.
  • TikTok.  MS tried to buy them in a reported range of $10B to $30B last year but didn’t close.
  • Discord.  Bloomberg reported a few weeks ago that MS was talking to Discord to buy for around $10B 
  • Pinterest.  MS was angling In February to takeover this company which has a market value of around $51B.
  • Zenimax Media.  MS bought this gaming company last September for $7.5B.
     
  • LinkedIn.  MS’ most notable acquisition back in 2016 for $26.2B.
